Fredric Aasbo from Norway who competes in the Formula Drift series across the US, and the newly expanded world series to encompass Asia and Canada had the first event for the world series at Fuji Japan was piloting the RS-R GT-86 where he qualified 8th and finished in the top 8.  And a few weeks later he was in the US at Seattle, Washington piloting the Rockstar Energy Hankook Tire Scion tC also on RS-R suspension where he qualified 3rd and won the event catapulting him into first place for the points race in both the US series and the World Series.

Joining Aasbo at the Fuji round was M Auttapon from Thailand, a popstar whose passion for cars drives him to compete in the Thailand drift series and Japan.  Piloting the RS-R Silvia S15 Auttapon qualified 17th and finished in the top 16.  In Thailand Auttapon also drives on RS-R suspension in his Silvia S14.

Tetsuya Hibino from Japan, also a drifter competes internationally continues his domination in the Russian Drift Series where he pilots a JZA80 Supra utilizing RS-R suspension.  Hibino has recently taken his 5th straight win giving him a solid lead to win the Russian Drift series championship.

Back in the US, Robert Stangarone who pilots a Supercharged Scion FR-S on RS- R Suspension in SCCA is holding strong in the points race for the San Diego region.  He leads the way in San Diego, and looks to compete in the LA region as well as the Nationals in Nebraska Sept 9-13, where he will take on competitors from other regions.

RS-R’s own Noriaki Sugahara, Takeshi Yokoyama, and Tatsuya Fukui, along with guests Hiroshi Nomura, and Koji Haraguchi took on the Motorgames Green cup race at Fuji held during the Formula Drift weekend.  The Green cup is a race that is not only determined by a lap time result, but by fuel consumption to crown a winner.  The balance of both lap times and fuel consumption takes driving skill, strategy, and teamwork.  It was a tight race, but team RS-R took home the win at the Fuji round of the green cup.

From Japan to Russia to the US, and more, team RS-R continues their passion for motorsports.  It was a great month of July for all our drivers.  We look forward to the upcoming events.
