John Zwolinski –
As a replacement for the OEM DDS C/Os, these Best *I Active C/Os allowed the ride height to dropped 1″ on my Q60 Red Sport AWD. The car used to understeer in high-speed corners, but now the car is balanced, and also allows much higher cornering speeds without the tires (Michelin PS4s) howling in protest.
As for highway ride, in “Standard” drive mode the suspension is firmer than stock, but is still comfortable for long-distance cruising. In “Sport” or “Sport+”, the ride is firmer still, but still tolerable. With the manual dampening settings, I’ve settled on “5” clicks from “Full Soft” in the front, and “8” clicks from “Full Soft” for the rear,. These settings will be good for HPDEs, but I’ll likely increase the dampening settings for Auto-X events, to manage the fast transitions.
Overall, despite the initial cost over the Basic C/Os, the Best *I Active C/Os pay it back with much better dynamic ride compliance with dampening adjustability when either daily driving or tracking your Q.
